Credibility problem in the “student-teacher” dyad within the context of HEIs’ transition to distance learning

The subject of the study is students' credibility with their teachers in the context of HEIs' transition to distance learning. The relevance of the study stems from the impact of the credibility phenomenon on the effectiveness of the educational process, the level of students' engagement and satisfaction, as well as the acceleration of the digitalization of the academic environment in higher education in recent years, especially during the pandemic. A total of 178 undergraduate students took part in the study. In reviewing the survey data using the statistical programming language R and content analysis, the author assesses the current level of students' credibility with their teachers. The organisational aspects of diastance learning most closely related to the degree of credibility in the “student - teacher” dyad were identified, as well as the qualities of educators that determine the level of student-teacher credibility.
