The problem of teaching future specialists in the field of media communications to read literary text

the article substantiates the understanding of reading as a complex intellectual activity that requires special pedagogical support due to the changed concept of the educational process as human-oriented. Reflective reading, being a form of artistic communication, is one of the most productive means of developing personally significant and professionally relevant qualities of future specialists in the field of media communications. The author shares his experience of teaching the subject «Great Books» to students majoring in «Journalism» and «Advertising and Public Relations», recommendations on the organization and technology of reading, examples of philological interpretation of literary texts in a student audience - the story «Student» by A. P. Chekhov, the sto-ry «The Sun, the Old Man and the Girl» by V. M. Shukshin and literary reminiscences of the ani-mated film «Boy and Bird» by H. Miyazaki. Similar experience can be used by literature teachers in schools and universities.
