Translation of Russian ergonyms into the English language

This article attempts to describe and justify the algorithm for the translation of Russian ergonymsinto English, since at the moment there is no consensus about the method of their transmission. The translation begins with the definition of the components of the ergonym. Then the possible ways of translation (transliteration or loan translation) are offered depending on the lexeme function. Word order, choice of uppercase or lowercase letters, usage of quotation marks are also considered.
