In the modern world, specialists with over-subject training are increasingly in demand. It is socio-humanitarian knowledge that contributes to the expansion of mental abilities and leads to the multifunctionality of a specialist. The article deals with the socio-humanitarian component of the training of specialists in the system of modern continuous professional education within the framework of the existing Federal State Educational Standards. An example of improving the quality of specialist training based on an increase in the volume of socio-humanitarian knowledge, a gradual awareness of the importance of humanitarian knowledge in further professional activity is shown.
