The features of the institution of compensation for moral harm and the provisions of civil legislation that determine the cases of assigning monetary payments as a result of causing suffering to an individual are considered. Situations in which moral harm is possible are systematized. The problems arising in legal proceedings when determining the amount of compensation for causing moral harm are given, and measures are proposed to solve them.
