Introduction. The primary difficulties in the professional activities of specialists of university psychological services that maintain psychological well-being of the subjects of education arise due to non-compliance or incomplete understanding of professional norms by the specialists, ranging from the values and goals of assistance to the methods and techniques of working with individual and group / organization structures as clients. Despite the diversity and intensity of domestic and, especially, foreign studies on the functioning and development of university psychological services on maintenance of psychological well-being of students and other subjects of education, there are still many gaps, especially in the areas related to the dilemmas traditional for helping professions and the dangers of substituting assistance with exploitation, helping the client with maintaining one’s own interests and interests of third parties. Awareness of values helps to comply with the norms of professional work and maintain a professional position, even in the process of participating in large-scale reforms and crises in education. The purpose of the study is to comprehend the problems of professional activity of specialists of modern university psychological services that arise in situations of setting and solving the problems of psychological support for education and its subjects as fully functioning individuals, partners, students and professionals.
