Problems of social and psychological adaptation of students who are prone to perfectionism

The article analyzes the features of socio-psychological adaptation of students who are prone to perfectionism. The student age is an important test, and how the student will cope with it, how he will pass the socio-psychological adaptation within the walls of the university depends on his further achievements. At the student age, perfectionism is expressed in the presentation of increased demands on one's personality and on the personality of others in educational and professional activities, exaggeration of demands on oneself from other people. In this regard, early identification of problems of sociopsychological adaptation, their diagnosis and comparative analysis are relevant. The authors organized and conducted an empirical study of the features of socio-psychological adaptation of students who are prone to perfectionism. “Questionnaire of social and psychological adaptation” by R. Diamond - K. Rogers, Spielberger-Hanin's Anxiety Scale; methodology for diagnosing educational motivation of students (A. Rean, V. Yakunin, modification by N. Badmaeva); P. A. Schuler's questionnaire to identify perfectionism was used as a diagnostic tool. The study involved 49 students aged 17-19 years. The analysis of the features of socio-psychological adaptations in students who are prone and not prone to perfectionism showed the reliability of the differences. For the perfectionists, there are patterns of a high level of selfrejection, emotional discomfort, inner control, egoism, and a high level of personal anxiety.
