Problems of identification and investigation of crimes committed by migrants and bringing them to liability

The relevance of the research topic is determined by the fact that one of the phenomena accompanying migration is migrant crime, which has close relationships with other types of crime. A critical analysis of the current state of law enforcement activities in the field of identifying and investigating crimes committed by migrants and bringing them to justice, as well as specialized studies on this topic, allowed us to identify the main organizational, managerial and other objective factors that negatively affect the effectiveness of this activity. As a result, it was found that the main problems of identifying and investigating crimes committed by migrants and bringing them to justice are associated with imperfect statistical accounting of migrant crime, personnel problems in the internal affairs agencies, corruption, as well as difficulties in monitoring places of compact residence of migrants. Identification of these factors allows us to determine the directions for improving the activities of law enforcement agencies to ensure migration security and combat migrant crime.
