Project of an academic programme "Practical course of communication (the English language)"

The article presents the project of an academic programme “Practical course of communication (the English language). The authors suggest acute and contemporary methods in learning a foreign language. The modern paradigm in pedagogy presupposes a combination of a communicative approach and the notion “activity” which means an active use of lingual, extralingual and creative resources of a student in the process of studying. Three possible formats of realization of the mentioned approaches are being suggested: public speaking, debating and round-table discussion. The aims, content, methods and forms of realization of these formats are being depicted. The logic of the course is also being explained. All in all, the authors claim the suggested programme to develop the communicative competence in students.
