The significance of profession-oriented courses of foreign language in the process of training future specialists is considered. There is demonstrated the role of different kinds of speech activity in the development of foreign-language competence of specialists. The approaches and principles of designing the profession-oriented course of foreign language are revealed. The aims, learning content, teaching methods and educational technologies are defined. There are given the examples of realization of the suggested approach.
