. Modern unfavorable epidemiological conditions have influenced changes in the organization of the educational process in universities. The transition to a mixed format or distance learning in higher education has affected many disciplines, in particular, physical culture. The problem of implementing the material on the elective discipline (practice) in physical culture is the need for a new approach in the formation of students' competence in the organization of motor activity to maintain a proper level of physical health and performance. The development of the program on the elective discipline of physical culture (in non-physical education universities) is based on the formation of knowledge in the field of: physiology and biological mechanisms of the human body adaptation to physical activity; energy supply of muscle work; theory and methodology of health-improving physical culture; wellness training, etc. Mastering knowledge and practical skills in the organization of motor activity will allow students of non-specialized universities to make individual motor programs taking into account the characteristics of the body (somatotype, level of fitness), manage their physical and functional condition, as well as adjust, if necessary, the physical and physiological indicators of their body.
