This article analyzes various celebrations and theatrical performances held in the Luhansk region to commemorate the Great Patriotic War. Particular attention is paid to their importance as a means of educating the younger generation and sharing historical experience. The study demonstrates that such events foster an emotional connection between audiences and historical events, strengthening patriotic values. The paper examines examples of themed public events and their influence on the formation of cultural memory. It also highlights the use of theatrical and festive events to highlight the heroic past and prevent its distortion. A comparative analysis of May 9 celebrations in the Luhansk region in different historical periods is provided: before and after the region's accession to the Russian Federation. It is noted that, due to the deteriorating international situation, Victory Day celebrations in the Luhansk region have become more widespread compared to previous years. Events and promotions that contain elements of theatrical performances (Immortal Regiment, "Ribbon of Memory") are indicated, and a performance based on the novel "Young Guard" by A. Fadeev, which is included in the repertoire of the Lugansk theater, is also mentioned.
