Industry words as part of special vocabulary (a case study of the fishing vocabulary of Pribaykalsky district of the Republic of Buryatia): the comparative aspect

The article represents the first attempt to study the industry-specific terminology of the fishermen of Pribaykalsky District. It is emphasized that industry words, like terms, belong to special vocabulary. Based on the vocabulary of fishermen of Pribaykalsky District, we have revealed that the main difference between industry words and terms is that the first belong to the colloquial style, they are characterized by increased expressiveness and stylistic decline. We have analyzed the features of industry words of the fishermen of Pribaykalsky District in field research conditions, and compared them with the data of the dictionaries of fishing vocabulary of other regions. The comparison made it possible to identify the specific features of the regional vocabulary related to fishing. The article emphasizes that the fishing vocabulary of Pribaykalsky District is characterized by peculiar local connotation and regional dialectisms.
