Professional education analysis of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service employees by means of testing

The article deals with the specifics of professional training of employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the resources of testing applied in the evaluation of their activities. Some approaches to the organization of professional education analysis of employees by means of testing are reviewed. It is mentioned, that the testing is currently the leading method for assessment of professional achievements. The author considers a range of approaches to the definition of tests and their basic functions (assessment, development, education). In the framework of the norm-referenced approach the author proposes a pattern of the test control application and its types.
