The article is devoted to studying the theological heritage of the moral theology professor at the St. Petersburg Theological Academy Alexander Alexandrovich Bronzov (1858-1936/37?), one of the most outstanding and prolific representatives of Russian academic theology ethics in the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries. Despite the fact that the scholar published about 950 papers, his course of moral theology was issued only in the form of lithographed student notes. The article analyzes this course, presents the thematic structure of its lectures and their content. The following conclusions are drawn: 1) The results obtained allow us to speak about the high scientific level of A. A. Bronzov’s theological heritage, which gives reason to consider him a worthy successor to the formation and development of moral theology in Saint Petersburg; 2) when assessing heterodox ethical thought, A. A. Bronzov avoided criticism and always sought to highlight the positive contribution of heterodox theologians and moralists to the development of issues of Christian morality; 3) the professor did not ignore modern movements of social and scientific thought, responding to the most pressing issues of the time, boldly entering into polemics and defending the enduring importance of Christian morality, which manifested an apologetic orientation in his presentation of Christian ethics.
