Post-stroke psychoemotional disorders and modern pharmacotherapy

Stroke remains an acute medical and social problem in the world, occupying a leading place in primary disability of the population. After a stroke motor deficit, bulbar disorders and decreased cognitive function come to the fore and determine the degree of independence and disability of the patient, while inexplicit changes in psychoemotional state often play a decisive role in the rehabilitation process [1]. The article presents a literature review of the Russian electronic library eLIBRARY and the PubMed library of the USA National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). Based on the aforementioned sources, we have analyzed modern understanding of post-stroke psychoemotional disorders, considered little-studied aspects and current approaches to pharmacotherapy.
