Psychological Prevention of School Anxiety in Younger Adolescents through Art Therapy

The article presents the effectiveness of using art therapy as a means of psychological prevention of school anxiety in younger adolescents. The relevance of the problem is determined by the significant impact of anxiety on academic performance, interpersonal relationships, and overall psychological well-being of adolescents. The results of a diagnostic assessment of school anxiety among 100 younger adolescents are presented, indicating a predominance of moderate and elevated levels of anxiety across various scales. A thematic plan for sessions aimed at preventing school anxiety is provided, taking into account the levels of prevention (primary, secondary, tertiary), along with examples of art therapy techniques used, including art therapy, clay modeling, collage-making, sand therapy, mask therapy, and others. The developed program supports the prevention of school anxiety by addressing both its preventive and corrective aspects. The study confirms the significant impact of art therapy techniques on reducing school anxiety levels in younger adolescents.
