Psychological rigidity as a bipolar cognitive-personal construct: a new conceptualization

The results of the meta-analysis of scientific publications devoted to the conceptualization of psychological rigidity as a bipolar cognitive-personal construct are presented. As a result of the meta-analysis of Russian and English-language articles published in scientific journals indexed in ScienceDirect (https://www.sciencedirect.com/), in e-library (https://www.elibrary.ru/), integrated with the Russian Science Citation Index, in Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.ru/) and on the Books Ngram Viewer online service, the terminological polysemy of the concept of rigidity was revealed, the stages of rigidity research and approaches to its study were identified and described. The above aspects formed the basis for the construction of a new concept of psychological rigidity as a bipolar cognitive-personal construct characterized by constructive-destructive interaction of cognitive structures and personal properties within the paradigm of cognitive-personal development.
