Psychological adaptation of patients with psychosomatic and neurotic diseases

In this paper were researched coping and defense mechanisms of patients with psychosomatic and with neurotic disease. It was revealed, that patients with neurosis more often realise defensive behaviour, emotional-focused coping. Patients with hypertension, denying the existence of problems, more often use behavioural activity, directed at problem solution. Emotional state (anxiety and depression) influences negatively on choice of coping strategies, launches defensive behaviour with tendency to avoiding the problems.
