The article reviews scientific concepts and approaches dealing with the contemporary preschool education. The essence of the "intrinsic value of preschool childhood" concept in the modern academic science is described. The authors substantiate the necessity of creating conditions for full-scale preschool childhood experience. The paper analyses the content and features of the social situation of preschool development, considers the key points of contemporary preschool pedagogy in the context of the specificity of human development in the preschool age.
