This research studies the issues of social infantilism of an individual and social maturity as a trait that is opposite to it. The paper provides basic premises that provide the ground for pedagogical conditions for prevention of social infantilism. The work describes the factors fostering social maturity of an individual. It provides a holistic system of pedagogical conditions for prevention of social infantilism. Based on the analysis and generalization of these conditions, a number of basic premises that allow to model a system of psychological and pedagogical conditions for prevention of social infantilism in cadets is proposed. It is concluded that the system of pedagogical conditions for prevention of social infantilism is methodologically based on environmental, systemic, cultural, activity, communicative (dialogical), axiological, acmeological, social role, practice-oriented/context-based, problem-based approaches to organization and implementation of pedagogical prevention of social infantilism in cadets.
