Radical youth movements in modern Russian society: socio-political determinants

The purpose of this publication is a sociological analysis of the socio-political determinants of the radicalization of Russian youth and the formation of radical youth movements in modern Russian society. The authors describe five groups of factors that determine the radicalization of youth: crisis phenomena in the social, economic and spiritual spheres of Russian society; socio-demographic determinants; socio-economic reasons; factors of a political nature: distrust of the authorities, ruling structures, political parties, legal nihilism and a low level of legal consciousness; development of the ideology of religious extremism.
