According to published data, 20-40% of patients who are candidates for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) have antibodies to allogeneic HLA-antigens. Between 1,4% and 24% of patients have pre-existing donor-specific anti-HLA antibodies, currently recognized as a significant barrier to successful engraftment of donor cells. The aim of our study was to determine the incidence of anti-HLA antibodies in multiple myeloma (MM) patients with indications for HSCT.
