The article considers the correlation of cognitive styles distinguished when splitting the poles of reflexivity / impulsiveness, and the speed of memorizing simple and complicated meaningless material. The aim of the research is the study of qualitative diversity of nonverbal meaningless material memorizing by students. Representatives of rapid / accurate and reflective cognitive styles process rapidly simple and complicated material, they show a high rate of incorporation of operational mechanisms in the process of memorizing. Representatives of impulsive and slow / inaccurate cognitive styles process slowly such material, respectively, they show a lower rate.
