Development and evaluation of the effectiveness of a program for the prevention and treatment of radio induced oral mucositis in patients with tumors of the oropharyngeal region

Oral mucositis is one of the most frequent and serious complications of antitumor treatment, the occurrence and progression of which can negatively affect the overall prognosis of the disease. The search for methods and approaches to the prevention and treatment of oral mucositis is of both clinical and scientific interest. This study is devoted to the development and evaluation of the effectiveness of a program for the prevention and treatment of oral mucositis, based on the prediction of the risk of its development. The initial indicators of the dental status of patients and the state of hemomicrocirculation of the oral mucosa can be used as a basis for choosing methods and approaches for the prevention and treatment of complications of antitumor treatment occurring in the mouth.
