Development of information and communication competences in future library science specialists

The relevance of the study is determined by the rapid transformation of technological and social conditions in the Republic of Kazakhstan, which requires updating approaches to training future library specialists. In the changing educational space, there is a need to adjust training programs aimed at developing both personal and professional competencies of future library specialists. The methodological basis of the article includes a combination of a system analysis of the training of future librarians with an analytical study on the development of their professional competencies, especially information and communication ones. The article presents the results of the study, reflecting the main problems of training specialists to work in the digital environment, as well as ways to improve the educational process for the formation of information and communication skills, knowledge and abilities of students - future librarians. The data obtained are of practical importance for universities training library specialists and can be used in the development of modern educational programs and concepts.
