Development of special and inclusive education in the Republic of Buryatia. Challenges and opportunities

The article analyzes the development of inclusive education in the Republic of Buryatia as a tool for enforcing the right of every child with disabilities to education. We present the quantitative information on inclusive schools in Russia. The article provides information on the creation of Centers for Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Habilitation in the Republic of Buryatia at the premises of special (remedial) boarding schools of various profiles (for children with hearing, vision, and intellectual impairments). It is considered the possibility of organizing network interaction of the staff of educational organizations, organizations for psychological and pedagogical support of educational process in the implementation of adaptive curriculum. We suggest using the experience of special (remedial) boarding schools for the development of inclusive education, creation of conditions for inclusive practices in the education of the republic.
