The paper deals with the issues related to the structural and substantial characteristics of the creativity of elementary school students, as well as the study of the features of their development in the educational activity. The authors emphasize the need to introduce effective technologies of creativity development in the school education system, which is determined by the children's need of self-actualization and creative problem solving. The authors present a developed program of creative abilities development by active learning methods, the effectiveness of which has been proven experimentally.
