The development of preschool children’s mathematical representations with using of Dienes blocks

The article is devoted to the development of senior preschool children’s mathematical representations. It is shown how the using of didactic material Dienes blocks affects the mathematical development, independence and creativity of preschool children. "Number and count" is one of the sections of the mathematical program’s content line in a preschool educational institution. In this regard, the article describes the pedagogical conditions for the development of senior preschoolers’ quantitative representations. The content of the article includes a description of the experiment’s results aimed at the implementation of indicated pedagogical conditions with using of Dienes blocks. In general, the article shows that the purposeful and organized using of different didactic tools by teachers of preschool institutions affects not only the mathematical development of preschool children, but also their mental development as a whole.
