Development of professional competency of future music teachers in the sphere of choral conducting training

The article discusses development of professional competency of future music teachers in accordance with the requirements of the professional standards for teachers. The author considers the necessity to correct the content of choral conducting training of music teachers with implementation of creative exercises aimed at familiarization with the modern methods and techniques of music education. The paper emphasizes the key role of the gesture in the music teachers’ training in the conducting lessons, lists the types of conductor’s gestures.
