The article deals with the concepts of terminological and information-communicative competence as the necessary components of the professional competence of the specialist-pharmacist. The authors draw attention to the fact that mastering the terminology competence allows future specialists to participate in further training and professional communication, and the ability to work with a source of information underlies the skills of information activities. The basis for the development of the competencies is in training the professional language and various strategies of professionally-orientedforeign-language reading.
