Creativity evokes new positive emotions, so it is no wonder that adults choose creative subjects as a way of increasing self-esteem and implementing their creative needs. One can be engaged in creativity in any period of life, especially when an unexpended creative potential of an adult plays the main role in adaptation to the aggressive influence of the world around. The article is devoted to the connection between the traditional Chinese painting and the implementation of creative needs of adult students. This becomes even more important with people getting art education as an additional one. The study of Chinese painting basics as a means of implementing personal creative needs is relevant against the background of thriving cultural communication between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China.
