Regional system of supplementary vocational education of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia): history, resources, and development prospects

Additional vocational education in modern society provides the human need for continuous improvement in the chosen specialization, which is caused by increasing demands of employers to professional competencies of employees. This article describes the historical and current activities of the Institute for the Development of Education and Advanced Training of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) to organize additional professional education and implementation of federal projects in this field. The features of the functioning of the institution depending on external social challenges, tasks, as well as changes occurring in the system of lifelong learning are described. It is noted that throughout the history of its development, the institute has accumulated personnel potential to ensure the conformity of training and retraining of teachers to multi-vector transformations of the educational process, innovation of its development, adaptation to the ongoing federal projects. In conclusion, the institute has not exhausted its resources in the implementation of additional vocational education and still represents a regional center of its development.
