Regional features of the development of sports infrastructure in the Kamchatka territory

Insufficient provision of sports facilities in the territories and the lack of accessibility of sports facilities cause a shortage of physical activity in a significant part of the population. At the same time, for the development of sports infrastructure, it is necessary to take into account the local conditions of its placement. The purpose of the study is to determine the regional features of the development of sports infrastructure in the regions of the Far North on the example of the Kamchatka Territory. The analysis and generalization of the data of the state programs for the development of physical culture and sports, regulatory documents, official statistical data, information obtained through a questionnaire of citizens have been carried out. It is determined that due to the difficult climatic conditions, more than 50 % of the sports infrastructure in the Kamchatka Territory cannot be operated year-round, however, this circumstance is not reflected in the official statistics concerning the provision of the population with sports infrastructure facilities. The opinion of the population of the Kamchatka Territory (based on the results of the survey) confirms the discrepancy between real and statistical indicators. In this regard, it is concluded that taking into account the development of sports infrastructure in the regions of the Far North is not objective enough, changes are needed in the methodology of federal statistical observation, as well as the inclusion of the climate coefficient in the calculation.
