The purpose of the study is to systematize the regional career guidance practices developed for school students at a university. The study focuses on university career guidance. The research subject is the modern forms of university-school interaction. The paper describes the types of career guidance: holiday school, distance learning, excursions to educational institutions. The relevance of the research is determined by the following reasons: the focus on early professional self-determination, career choice based on personal desire and opportunities, a loss of prestige of teaching professions. It is necessary to apply the innovative types of school student engagement because future applicants are early involved in a rapid pace of life. The information on majors and admission rules available from booklets and Welcome Days is insufficient for them. Special attention is paid to the active involvement of entrants from the regions of the Republic of Karelia. Universities hold distance psychological and educational skills contests and provide other innovative interactions in this regard. The use of distance career guidance, i.e. electronic case technology for curriculum subjects, is effective for applicants from remote districts. The authors note that interaction with high school students implies the intensive awareness raising of professions that can be achieved while studying at the Department.
