Reconstruction of the emotive meaning of the old English word ‘gedriht’ in the Book of Genesis

The article deals with the study of the reasons of the origin and change of the emotive meaning of the old English word ‘gedriht’ in the Anglo-Saxon Book of Genesis. There is substantiated the potential of the definition of the emotive meaning of the old word with the help of the method of the semantic reconstruction and with consideration of the specificity of the old German epic tradition.
