Religious narratives in modern ethnopolitical projects (on the example of the "Pomor idea")

The article aims to analyze the peculiarities of the appeal to the spiritual heritage in modern ethnopolitical processes. The study shows that under the influence of global assimilation processes, the specific features of the national culture are leveled, but that the category of “ethnic” does not lose its relevance. Official documents record the emergence of new nationalities. The reasons for the emergence of a new ethnic group of “Pomors” are considered. The structural and content specificity of the ethnocultural identity of modern Pomors is studied from the standpoint of philosophical anthropology, the philosophy of culture and religious studies. The research uses an interdisciplinary approach, used religious analysis, methods of ethnology and ethnography, content analysis of national periodicals and public social networks. According to the author, religious motives are the semantic core of the Pomor project. The analysis of the key components of the spiritual outlook of modern Pomors is carried out. Features of the use of Christian and neo-pagan narratives in the picture of the world of Pomors are considered. The dynamics of the sacralization of nature and the appearance of ecological utopias are studied against the background of the appeal to neopaganism. The position is confirmed that the religious narratives of the Pomor project reflect the dynamics of the religious life of modern Russia as a whole.
