Representation of the concept “royal power” in the old English (based on the Anglo-Saxon sources)

The article deals with one of the most complicated aspects of the Old German society - the process of origin and establishment of the statehood of the Anglo-Saxon, to be more exact: origin, essence and establishment of the royal power and the ways of its representation in the Old English. The research is carried out on the basis of the written literary sources of the early middle-ages England in the Old English language - “the Anglo-Saxon Сhronicle” and the heroic poem “Beowulf”.
