Restoration of English mass media headline attractiveness in translation

The paper is devoted to the specificity of English mass media headline translation. The authors distinguish different translation methods for the headline attractiveness restoration and make conclusion that the headline is very important to attract readers‘ attention, and it reports article's summary to the reader providing an informative function. The practical part of the study includes selected figures of speech classification and headline translation analysis. At the end of the paper, authors conclude that translator should have background knowledge, knowledge of some headlines grammatical peculiarities and use the figures of speech correctly to translate headlines properly.
