This article describes the implementation of a targeted mentoring model in vocational educational institutions in the Chelyabinsk Region. The national project “Education”, which concluded in 2025, laid a solid foundation for the national project “Youth and Children” (which will run from 2026 to 2030). Therefore, it is important not only to preserve and enhance the results achieved previously but also to objectively substantiate the impact of mentoring on achieving the target indicators of the current national project and related initiatives (in particular, the federal projects “Professionalism” and “Teachers and Mentors”). This article attempts to combine traditional approaches to assessing the effectiveness of mentoring with mathematical methods to evaluate the reliability of the relationship between involvement in mentoring and the performance of professional educational organizations in various areas. This article analyzes the implementation of a targeted mentoring model in professional educational organizations in the Chelyabinsk Region, and examines the degree of monotonicity between involvement in mentoring and various areas of the educational organization’s activities. This will allow for an objective assessment of the impact of mentoring on signifi cant performance indicators within the local educational system, which includes professional educational organizations in the Chelyabinsk Region. The objective of the study is to compare the involvement of students (as mentees) in mentoring with the performance of professional educational organizations in socially signifi cant areas. The latter results were obtained from a statistical report on the activities of professional educational organizations (Form SPO-1) and are the result of the “Best Professional Educational Organization” competition held annually in the Chelyabinsk Region. A pairwise comparison using the Spearman rank correlation method (the only possible method for the available data series) demonstrated a correlation between student involvement in mentoring and the effectiveness of VEO activities. It is important to note that the advantage of this approach is the simplicity of calculations using the statistical research method proposed in the article, as well as the lack of similar studies discovered during the analysis of specialized periodicals. This approach can be used both for scientifi c purposes and in the context of empirical analysis of the effectiveness of local educational systems.
