Robotization of vegetable production in Russia: current state, problems and prospects
Relevance. Vegetable production is one of the strategically important sectors of the Russian agro-industrial complex, ensuring the country's food security and supplying the population with vegetable products. Under conditions of labor shortages, rising production costs, and the need to improve production efficiency, robotization has become one of the priority areas of technological modernization in the industry. Methods. The article analyzes the current state of robotization in vegetable production in Russia and leading countries worldwide, examines the main challenges associated with the implementation of agricultural robots, performs a comparative analysis of automation levels, and identifies promising directions for further development. Particular attention is paid to the transformation of agricultural technologies to meet the requirements of robotic systems, import substitution, and practical experience in implementing robotic solutions in domestic vegetable production. Results. The study revealed that the main limiting factors are the high cost of equipment, a shortage of qualified personnel, an insufficient level of digitalization, and dependence on imported components. It is demonstrated that the successful implementation of agricultural robots requires the adaptation of vegetable cultivation technologies and the development of robot-friendly agricultural practices.
