This article discusses the main approaches to the study of the phenomenon of play in preschool age, examines the main cultural contradictions of the mental development of a preschool child, and describes the impact of play on the mental development of a preschool child and ways to solve the main contradictions that arise in the process of gaming activity. The article also describes the structure of the game, its functions and the main directions of development.
