The role of educational media resources in developing media literacy

In the context of society's digitalization, developing students' media literacy becomes a priority task of education. The article examines the role of educational organizations' own media resources as a tool for developing young people's media competencies. An analysis of foreign and Russian experience in using school and student media for teaching critical thinking and fact-checking skills was conducted. Key mechanisms of media practice impact on media literacy formation were identified: mastering journalistic standards, developing critical information analysis, understanding media processes. Effective formats and strategies for organizing educational media resources are presented. The research confirms the hypothesis that media resources of educational organizations, when purposefully used, can effectively serve as an educational environment for developing media literacy among all students.
