The role of intergroup competitions in motivation of students on the example of the Barnaul Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia

The article deals with the problem of increasing the motivation of students with the help of intergroup competition using information technology, namely a rating system for assessing the results of all types of cadets' achievements aimed at forming the necessary competences for future professional activities. To determine the role of intergroup competition in motivating the cadets' activity the authors present the results of a questionnaire survey of students at different courses. The results of the questioning of cadets show the importance of the role of intergroup competition in motivating their achievements. The scoring-rating system for assessing the results of the intergroup competition of cadets for all types of activities proposed by the authors has a novelty in solving the actual problems of increasing the motivation of students for the educational process.
