The role of sustainable development and carbon regulation in the quality management of hospitality enterprises

Currently, the role and importance of sustainable hospitality, especially carbon regulation, is increasing. This is evidenced by regulatory acts, standards and initiatives at the international, regional and national levels, as well as the requirements of consumers who prefer to focus on quality and environmental services when traveling. The analysis of the approaches of the leading hotel chains on issues of carbon regulation, the awareness of guests about the principles of carbon regulation, which can serve as motivation to give preference to accommodation in environmentally friendly hotels. As a result, the authors conclude about the need to form a sustainable business model focused on carbon regulation and the provision of quality services. The climate crisis is not just a consequence of global emissions, but the result of decisions made by specifi c people and extreme climate events can be associated not only with abstract emissions but also with the lifestyle. Measures have also been developed to implement sustainability measures, carbon regulation and quality improvement, as the tourism and hospitality industry is rapidly growing, which is putting a strain on the environment. An important aspect highlighted by the authors is the conclusion that employees and guests should be involved in achieving goals to save water, consumables, energy, and minimize waste.
