Russian and Chinese concepts in intercultural dialogue: a hermeneutic approach

The article deals with the problem of dialogical interaction between Chinese and Russian cultural concepts from the perspective of hermeneutic approach to intercultural communication. The scientific research in the field of linguistic worldview and concepts serves as a methodological basis for out study. The article uses such hermeneutic category as horizon of expectation to analyze the functioning of the concepts of Tao and Conscience. In order to analyze the concepts of Heaven and Destiny in intercultural communication we use the category of hermeneutic circle, where in a circular movement these concepts contribute to the achievement of understanding between representatives of different peoples and cultures. The article analyzes similar and distinctive characteristics of these concepts depending on the national picture of the world, cultural and historical traditions. It is substantiated the heuristic character of hermeneutic methodology in the studies of intercultural communication. As a result of the study we have come to the conclusion about the need for a thoughtful attitude to the traditions of another nation, taking into account the uniqueness of the interlocutors’ linguistic worldview and cultural concepts in dialogical interaction.
