The article examines the historical and cultural component of Russian jewelry in Kazan in the early 20th century. The purpose of the article is to make a comprehensive historical and cultural analysis of Russian jewelry of the period. The objectives are to identify the conditions for the development of jewelry, its interaction with culture, and to consider the decorative and symbolic meaning of jewelry. The main principle of constructing the article was the methodology of the history of everyday life, which provides objective facts inherent in the period. To solve the tasks, it is necessary to conduct a typology of jewelry typical of Russian Kazan jewelers during the period under study, identify technical and technological features, and describe decorative and technical solutions. In the early 20th century, Kazan, as one of the largest cultural and economic centers of the Russian Empire, played an important role in the development of jewelry art. The multinational nature of the region, where Russians, Tatars, Chuvashes, and other ethnic groups coexisted, created a unique atmosphere for the synthesis of various artistic traditions and craft practices. The vibrant diversity of jewelry produced in Kazan reflected both the rich history of local cultures and the influence of Western styles and technologies. The article examines the combination of traditional Tatar ornaments and Russian craft techniques that contributed to the formation of a special Kazan style in jewelry. We will analyze key craftsmen and art teams, their role in improving the quality of products and disseminating new technologies, as well as the impact of socio-economic changes that took place in the region on the eve of the revolution. Contributing not only to the artistic but also to the economic development of the city, Kazan jewelers left a legacy that continues to attract the interest of modern researchers and collectors.
