The family is a microsocium that gives children views on themselves and others, preferences and settings, fears and future values. The composition of the family, the choice of styles of family education, the consistency of parents are the main vectors for the formation of the future personality. The most favourable to the development of an elder pre-schooler is over-self-esteem, while under-self-esteem causes problems with the surrounding and self-perception. A child with an adequate and inflated self-esteem feels his or her importance in the family, while low self-esteem is formed in a situation of emotional detachment, inconsistency of parents, and a difficult psychological climate in the family. The self-esteem of a preschooler is determined not so much by a family composition as by the quality of family relations, the child’s sense of self-worth in the eyes of relatives and adults and, also, by their understanding of the child’s problems.
