Self-assessment of the professional image of future educational psychologists

The article actualizes the issue of formation and self-assessment of professional image of future educational psychologists. The article characterizes the concept of “professional image” from the position of modern imageology and psychology. The specifics of teaching students of the specialty “Psychological and pedagogical education” in the context of ensuring their conscious attitude towards their own image transmitted to the student, parent and special community are revealed. The author identifies the key factors influencing the formation of the professional image of the future educational psychologists, and also highlights the psychological features of the development of the personality of the student - future educational psychologist - in the image-forming activity. The structure of professional self-consciousness of an educational psychologist is specified as a complex of notions of themselves as a professional. The author presents the results of an empirical study of self-assessment of the professional image of future educational psychologists. Based on the presented results, general recommendations are proposed that can contribute to maintaining a positive self-assessment of the professional image of future educational psychologists.
