Self-presentation of protagonist in the book “Die abenteuer des freiherrn von M"unchhausen” by G.A. Burger

The self-presentation strategy of the protagonist in the work “Die Abenteuer des Freiherrn von Münchhausen” by G.A. Burger is considered. There are described the techniques and linguistic means that the famous fantast used to demonstrate his superiority over the other people and the extraordinary skills and abilities of hunter, sailor, traveler and the participant of military actions. The bright personal orientation of self-description of Munchausen, focused on the personal uniqueness, the creation of listeners’ confidence and their emotional engagement, is revealed.
